Virginia Tech Among 4 Currently Standing Out For Four-Star DB/RB Kamarro Edmonds

VT v UNC 2019 63

Four-star DB/RB Kamarro Edmonds has emerged as one of the top talents in the 2021 class out of North Carolina with Virginia Tech among the programs heavily pursuing him. So far, that interest is quite mutual with the Hokies among those currently standing out for Edmonds, largely due to proximity to home.

"Well at the moment, just the schools I have been able to visit the most, UNC, NC State, Virginia Tech, and USC (South Carolina) in no order... but I want to get a look at some others also," Edmonds said about which schools are standing out.

When asked about why the Hokies are on that list, Edmonds had plenty to say about what makes Virginia Tech stand out for him.

"It's beautiful out there and not too far from home. The atmosphere on game day is one of the best I have seen so far. I thought they had a great season this year also, with how young they are and weren't scared to play young players. Plus, every coach that I have talked to so far makes me really feel wanted," Edmonds said.

Head coach Justin Fuente has led the charge for Virginia Tech and built the strongest relationship with Edmonds among those on Tech's staff with Edmonds having this to say about Fuente.

"Oh I definitely like him, he keeps in contact with me often. Real good guy in my eyes," Edmonds said.

Currently, Virginia Tech is primarily pursuing Edmonds at his preference of defensive back with a focus more at cornerback, but the Hokies are more than willing to put him at RB should he choose to focus there.

This meant that he took notice of the promotion of Justin Hamilton to be the Hokies' defensive coordinator with Bud Foster's seal of approval being a big factor in his reaction to the news.

"I heard that Coach Bud vouched for him so that's big... The ball should keep rolling with him running the D now," Edmonds said.

Looking ahead, Edmonds told us that he has plans to make Junior Day visits to N.C. State and Wake Forest this weekend. Additionally, Edmonds is hoping to visit Virginia Tech, Tennessee, and Louisville in the near future.

Virginia Tech is right in the hunt for four-star DB/RB Kamarro Edmonds as the Hokies hope he'll be part of what could be an elite 2021 recruiting class for the Hokies.
