Virginia Tech has sent out some new offers over the past week after coaches across the country got to catch their breath after the February National Signing Day including one to three-star TE Camp Magee from Edgewater HS in Orlando, Florida.
Magee had this to say about his reaction to receiving an offer from the Hokies during a FaceTime with offensive coordinator/TEs coach Tyler Bowen.
"I was definitely really excited. VT is an awesome school with a great football program. They have a great coaching staff also," Magee said.
He added this about his FaceTime conversation with Tyler Bowen went as a whole.
"It was great. I definitely liked talking with coach about their offense and new staff," Magee said.
Tech's offer comes as Magee has received 13 offers since the start of 2022 including ones from Miami, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Duke, Rutgers, and numerous others in addition to the Hokies. He also picked up his first three offers in December last year from a trio of Power 5 programs in Indiana, West Virginia, and Iowa State in that order.
That shouldn't come as a surprise after he showed plenty of promise down in Florida last year with 7 receiving touchdowns in 2021.
So how does this offer impact Camp Magee's recruitment and Virginia Tech's standing in it?
"It definitely makes a huge impact on my recruitment. VT is a big time college football program and I’m very blessed that they’re interested in me. VT is definitely high on my list right now just being the great school and football program that it is," Magee said.
Looking ahead, Magee told us that he has a pair of visits scheduled to Northwestern on March 5th and Vanderbilt on March 26th. Additionally, Magee is hoping to take visits to Virginia Tech, Louisville, Boston College, Duke, West Virginia, and Indiana.
Keep an eye on Camp Magee who has emerged as one of Virginia Tech's top TE targets for the 2023 class with the Hokies already off to a strong start in his recruitment.
