Virginia Tech defensive lineman Arias Nash plans to enter the transfer portal according to multiple reports.
The Charlotte, NC, native transferred from Mercer to Virginia Tech last winter. As a Hokie, he only played in three games, allowing him to redshirt and retain a year of eligibility.
In his three years at Mercer, Arias Nash played in 33 games with 15 starts. He had a breakout year at the FCS school in 2024 with 13 starts, recording 54 tackles and 12.5 for a loss including nine sacks plus a forced fumble.
He was never able to break into Virginia Tech's defensive line rotation and decided to take advantage of his redshirt rather than see his collegiate career end as a depth player. Given his success at Mercer, don't be surprised if Nash has plenty of Group of 6 and FCS suitors this cycle.
