Virginia Tech DL Ishmael Findlayter Will Enter the Transfer Portal

Virginia Tech DL Ishmael Findlayter has announced that he will enter the transfer portal, becoming the second Hokie to do so.

Findlayter joins Malachi Madison as Hokies who have announced that they will enter the transfer portal. He had two tackles including 0.5 sacks during his time at VT, and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Findlayter was a tweener of sorts who at 6’4’’ and 260 pounds wasn’t able to break through at either defensive end or defensive tackle. His departure opens up more room for defensive line additions via the portal, with the Hokies likely to target at least one or two of them to have multiple years of eligibility remaining similar to Kelvin Gilliam and Khurtiss Perry last year.
