Check out the latest from Virginia Tech on the recruiting trail including the Hokies extending an offer to a talented offensive line transfer from UNLV and updates on some other 2021 and 2022 targets.

UNLV OL Justice Oluwaseun

Virginia Tech is still looking to add some offensive lineman via the transfer portal and extended an offer this week to UNLV transfer Justice Oluwaseun

Oluwaseun is a grad transfer who has two years of eligibility remaining thanks to the NCAA's free year this past season. He has been an offensive line starter for the past two seasons at UNLV primarily starting at tackle (6 starts at RT in 2020, 11 starts overall in 2019). Tech is looking to add at least one veteran reinforcement to go with a group that currently includes Luke Tenuta, Silas Dzansi, and Parker Clements among the most notable returners.

In addition to the Hokies, Oluwaseun has received offers from Rutgers, Houston, Liberty, FIU, Western Kentucky, and North Texas. While Rutgers may seem like the top competition for Tech as the only other Power 5 offer at this point, Houston should be seen as a top contender as Oluwaseun is from the Houston metro area.

However, Tech's recent success landing talent from the state of Texas combined with the connections of recruiting Beau Davidson to the Lone Star State could prove valuable in the Hokies' pursuit of him.

JUCO OL Jakob Bradford

Tech continues to have contact with JUCO offensive lineman Jakob Bradford as the Hokies are clear in their intent to at least add 1-2 more older offensive linemen to their 2021 team. Bradford had a conversation with offensive line coach Vance Vice this past week and had this to say about it.

"I got on the phone with coach (Vance) Vice and he explained that he really loved my technique and film. He also mentioned that he cares about what guys he brings into the program so he’s not going to be so fast on offering me. He said he is just going to do a little more research and I respect that for sure," Bradford said.

Bradford has received several offers so far including one from Syracuse while Missouri and Texas Tech are among the other Power 5 teams showing the most regular interest him alongside the Hokies at this point among those who haven't offered.

Keep an eye on Bradford as the Hokies are looking to add older, ready to play offensive linemen, and are evaluating both JUCO and transfer options.

2022 DB Elijah Davis

Elijah Davis has seen his offer list hit double digits, but he already has a few schools that are standing out on his list.

Davis told us that Virginia Tech, Nebraska, West Virginia, N.C. State, and in-state South Florida are currently standing out in his recruitment. He says that the Hokies are in that group because he is in communication "a lot" with them with recruiting assistant Lino Lupinetti leading the charge.

Davis added that he has a "great" relationship with Lupinetti and had this to say about why that's the case.

"Because we communicate a lot. The more communication, the better because we can’t visit schools," Davis said.

It may be early in his recruitment, but Lupinetti is helping the Hokies position themselves well for the talented safety from Florida.
