For the first time in his career at Virginia Tech, wide receiver Kaleb Smith will wear the No. 25 jersey when the #15 Hokies travel to Morgantown to battle with West Virginia on Saturday.

The former walk-on has played in both games for the Hokies in 2021; reeling in his first three receptions of the season for 25 yards against Middle Tennessee State this past Saturday.
The Bumpass, Va native earned his scholarship before the 2019 season after redshirting in 2018. When making his first collegiate appearance, Smith caught his first touchdown against Boston College to open the 2019 season.
One of the higher qualities of Smith’s game has been his blocking ability that has proved quite valuable for Tech's rushing game (including the jet sweeps and screens), and on special teams.
Smith will be the first offensive Hokie to receive the No. 25 jersey after defensive back Chamarri Conner wore it against North Carolina and long snapper Oscar Shadley wore it against Middle Tennessee State.
