Virginia Tech has made four-star offensive lineman Bryan Hudson a priority in the 2019 class. The Kentucky native has an impressive offer list with the Hokies being among those that are standing out.
Hudson recently visited Virginia Tech for the Hokies' Junior Day, which went quite well.
Bryan Hudson told us that the Hokies are the leader in his recruitment after his Junior Day visit to Blacksburg. Hudson said that his visit was "great" and that he enjoyed getting to spend time with Justin Fuente and Vance Vice, and "enjoyed seeing all of campus and the facilities." When we asked Hudson what stood out on his visit, he told us that "The shared history among the coaches, their chemistry together and seeing the academic center this time; which was impressive," stood out to him.
So how did this visit impact his recruitment and push the Hokies to the top?
"They are definitely at the top of my list! I enjoyed everything and loved it all. I am still deciding due to the fact that there are still schools coming into my recruitment, but they are definitely at the top," Bryan Hudson said on the impact of his visit and the Hokies' standing in his recruitment.
When we asked Hudson why the Hokies lead in his recruitment, this is what he had to say.
"I just think it's a great fit for me. I love the attitude that the whole staff has towards the game of football and their mentality. I have built a great relationship with Coach Fuente and Coach Vice. The campus is great. A lot could change and all, but they are at the top right now."
The fact that Hudson has built a great relationship with Vance Vice, his potential position coach, and Justin Fuente is another sign that the Hokies are in really good shape for Hudson at this point. When we asked Hudson why his relationship with Fuente and Vice was "great", this is what he told us.
"I just feel really comfortable around them. With some coaches, it can be tough to relate to them and connect with them, but with both Coach Vice and Coach Fuente, it is easy to talk to them and they are very honest. Coach Vice reminds me a lot of one of my youth coaches I had, so it is just easier to relate to them," Hudson told us.
Due to track season, Hudson won't be taking any official visits this spring, but he does plan to take some other unofficial visits this spring including ones to Duke, Oklahoma, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, and Tennessee.
Though Hudson doesn't plan to take any official visits this spring, he is hoping to make his decision before the start of his senior high school football season.
"I'd like to make a decision before my senior season starts just so I am as distraction free as I can be during my own season. However, I won't rush anything. I have to be absolutely ready to make a decision. Short of major coaching changes at the school I decide to go to, I will not be part of the decommitting trend I'm noticing," Bryan Hudson said on his timetable for making a decision.
Right now, Virginia Tech is in great shape for Bryan Hudson after his Junior Day visit went about as well as imagined. Hudson's recruitment still has a long ways to go, but the Hokies have created some separation after a great Junior Day visit.
Virginia Tech leads for one of their top offensive line targets in Bryan Hudson, but the Hokies still have plenty of work to do with lots of competition for the four-star OT/OG.
