As the 2027 women's basketball recruiting cycle continues, Virginia Tech continues to build a very strong class that already includes a few top 100 recruits. VT still has a few more targets they’re looking to add to their impressive 2027 class. This includes five-star wing Qandace Samuels who recently included the Hokies in her top 4 schools.

Virginia Tech is under Samuel’s’ consideration alongside LSU, Rutgers and Texas. Notable schools that Samuels was offered by but are not among her top 4 include Alabama, UNC, NC State, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and in-state foe Virginia, all of whom were within her initial top 10.
Samuels had her first unofficial visit to Blacksburg back in July, with her second trip being an official visit this past September.
The Hokies have a decent shot to land this highly touted recruit, a massive opportunity considering Samuels is ranked 12th nationally overall and 4th at her position per 247 Sports. One thing that helps Virginia Tech’s chances is their proximity to her home state of Maryland.
Megan Duffy and company may still have a lot of work to do in order to earn Qandace Samuels' commitment, but the Hokies are as close as ever in landing this elite Class of 2027 wing.
