Last week's win over Duke earned Virginia Tech some major recognition from the AP voters as the Hokies rose to No. 15 in this week's poll. Tech jumped up five spots from last week's ranking of No. 20.
The Hokies only played one game this week, but it was a big one. Tech knocked off then-No. 3 Duke at home for the third straight win against the Blue Devils in Cassell Coliseum. Once again without senior guard Justin Robinson, the Hokies were able to pull of their biggest win of the season
Looking around the ACC, the conference now owns three of the top four spots. No. 2 Virginia and No. 3 North Carolina lead the way, with Duke only falling one spot to No. 4 this week.
Florida State jumped up four spots to No. 14 after a win over NC State this week. The Hokies round out the ranked ACC squad at the 15th spot.
Tech travels to Tallahassee this week for a matchup with No. 14 Florida State on Tuesday. The two teams are currently tied for fourth place in the ACC and this week's game will likely decide who gets the four seed in this month's ACC Tournament.
Tuesday's game tips off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
