Virginia Tech extended a scholarship offer this week to 2022 WR Amarion Brown. The rising high school junior out of Stuart, FL was happily surprised to receive the news.

"I was very shocked," Brown said. "I wasn't expecting it at all, but it feels like my dream is turning into a reality."

Brown said his high school coach first informed him of the offer. He added that he did not realize Virginia Tech's interest prior to the offer.

With that said, Brown certainly had his own interest in the Hokies. While he has yet to visit Blacksburg, he recalls his fondness of Virginia Tech as a child.

"I remember when I was young playing NCAA [Football], it was either Virginia Tech or Oregon that I'd always play with," Brown said. "So I would say Virginia Tech's standing is looking good."

Now, Brown has gone from using the Hokies in the NCAA Football video games to Virginia Tech hoping that Brown will come be a part of their team.

Although he is only a rising junior in high school, Brown has already garnered plenty of attention from Power Five schools. He currently holds offers from South Carolina, Arkansas, Penn State, and Florida, in addition to Virginia Tech. Brown also received a three-star rating from 247 Sports with the recruiting site ranking him as the 46th best wide receiver and 43rd best recruit from Florida in the 2022 class.

Looking ahead, Brown doesn't have any visits currently scheduled, but he does hope to visit all the schools that have offered him so far, whenever that opportunity may come.

"I plan on visiting all the schools that have offered me," Brown added.

As a 2022 prospect, Brown's recruitment is certainly still open. Even so, the Hokies are off to a good start in their pursuit of him.
