Virginia Tech freshman offensive lineman Carter Stallard will enter the transfer portal.

The Christiansburg native didn’t see the field this year, behind a veteran-led starting line, activating his redshirt. Stallard was a three-star prospect in the class of 2025 and a top-35 prospect in the state of Virginia. He chose Virginia Tech over teams like Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and others.

Stallard is the first offensive lineman to announce their entry into the portal, though it isn’t expected to be a big loss, as the Hokies are bringing in seven linemen from the 2026 class to help rebuild their long-term

Still expect Virginia Tech to dip their toes in the transfer portal for offensive linemen, as last year wasn’t one to remember, especially in the passing game.

Carter Stallard is the 19th Hokie to enter the portal and will have four more years of eligibility left.
