Dickson is the fifth Hokie to enter the transfer portal joining starting TE Dae'Quan Wright, top nickelback Derrick Canteen, #3 RB Bryce Duke and backup WR Da'Wain Lofton. He has three years of eligibility remaining and will stay with the team through the Military Bowl.
Dickson played 19 offensive snaps this past season, all of which came during garbage time situations. While Dickson did receive some praise from Tech coaches, he was never able to break through Tech's depth chart to earn a significant role.
With Tech set to bring in a large transfer portal class as well as being behind guys with the same amount of eligibility, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Dickson would move on in pursuit of a fresh start elsewhere.
