The wait was longer than expected for Khalil Herbert, but he finally was selected in the sixth round, 217th overall by the Chicago Bears.

Herbert becomes the fourth Hokie selected in the 2021 NFL Draft along with Caleb Farley, Christian Darrisaw, and Divine Deablo. He also becomes the first Virginia Tech RB drafted since David Wilson was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
