Virginia Tech will face their first of three expected ranked opponents over their next four games in #25 Liberty this Saturday. With the Hokies facing their first ranked opponent at home this season, Tech is pulling out arguably the top fan favorite jersey combination.
Tech is pulling out the beloved "All Maroon Everything" uniforms for the first time going with maroon helmets, jerseys, and pants. This jersey has been pulled out for plenty of big games before against ranked competition so in that regard, this isn't a surprise.
However, even with Liberty being ranked, it is surprising to see the Hokies pull out these uniforms given that it's Liberty and that this is a noon kickoff game with this uniform combination usually being left for a primetime game.
Of course, these uniforms are treasured, and it wouldn't be surprising to see them pulled out again especially with a home game against Clemson left on the schedule.
It shouldn't be a surprise to see the Hokies go with Tayvion Robinson to reveal these jerseys featuring a former top in-state recruit who chose the Hokies over plenty of out-of-state options. Robinson has definitely earned it as he's finding his rhythm on punt returns and avoiding the mistakes of earlier this season while also continuing to be an effective playmaker at wide receiver.
