Four days after the start of the 2026 transfer portal window, Virginia Tech is set to host Lauren Hurst from Tennessee and Madison St. Rose of Princeton on recruiting visits this weekend, according to social media Insider account Skim Milkey.
Hurst is a 6-foot-2 freshman guard who averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 24 appearances last season for the Lady Vols. Her breakout performance came on February 17 against Ole Miss when she scored 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including 4-for-5 from deep, and grabbed 9 rebounds in 24 minutes.
Her fellow visitor, St. Rose, is a 5-foot-10 senior guard who played four seasons for the Tigers. For her career, she's averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 assists, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 29.4 minutes per contest. A major contributor in every season, St. Rose shot the ball at a 42.3% clip from the field in four seasons, though last season was her best shooting campaign yet at nearly 48%.
The visits come at an important time for head coach Megan Duffy's program that has already lost five players including starters F Carys Baker, who earned All-ACC Second Team honors last season, and PG Mackenzie Nelson to the transfer portal.
