There was no transfer that Virginia Tech fans were more excited for when he committed to the Hokies than Old Dominion WR Ali Jennings and understandably so.
The Richmond native was impressive at ODU with 116 receptions for 2,025 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns averaging 17.5 yards per reception while developing into one of the best Group of 5 wide receivers in the country.
He was also ranked by 247 Sports and On3 as one of the top transfer WRs in the country with a four-star rating from both as well. Combine the significant known Power 5 interest he had and it was clear that Jennings was a big time talent who most believe is prepared to be a playmaker at the Power 5 level in his final year of eligibility.
Wide receiver was arguably the most pressing need for the Hokies entering the offseason especially after star Kaleb Smith entered the portal and transferred to Notre Dame before retiring from football for medical reason. Jennings gave the Hokies the star that they were needing with MTSU's Jaylin lane and Norfolk State's Da'Quan Felton providing an even greater boost to the WR room.
That's led to Jennings now having some big expectations from Tech fans given what he did at ODU including against VT last season, and the high regard that other Power 5 coaches and national evaluators at 247 Sports and On3 had for Jennings.
So how would Jennings describe his game?
