Virginia Tech wide receiver Cameron Seldon plans to enter the transfer portal according to multiple reports including CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.

The junior wide receiver appeared in 11 games, totaling 23 receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns. His 23 catches were second on the team this past season.. On the ground, he carried the ball seven times, gaining 28 yards. He also started three games for the Hokies as Tech's slot receiver, with Takye Heath taking the starting slot job from Seldon during the closing stretch of the season.

In 2025, Seldon transferred to Virginia Tech from Tennessee. He had been a running back for the previous two years before making a transition to wide receiver. He had 48 carries for 224 yards and one touchdown when he was at Rocky Top. He had only one catch before this past season, so there was no clear or easily given transition from running back to receiver.

While Seldon entered the portal with plans to play running back elsewhere, VT always viewed him as a wide receiver and moved him there immediately upon his arrival. Seldon showed promise due to his athleticism but much of his work came on screens and quick passes as he remains a fairly raw WR talent.

Cameron Seldon should have suitors, but the question is whether he will seek a return to be a running back or continue his development as a wide receiver at his new school in his final year of eligibility.
