He joins CB Dante Lovett as the second Virginia Tech player to enter the transfer portal since the dismissal of head coach Brent Pry.
So far in 2025, Holloway had played in four games with five catches for 82 yards. He led the team in receiving yards in the Hokies' 44-20 loss against Vanderbilt.
Over his entire career, he has 13 catches for 149 yards and no touchdowns. Rushing wise, he had just one carry for a 33-yard touchdown against UVA in 2023.
When it comes to returning punts, he was among the best in the nation. In his career, he had a total of 449 yards with a touchdown and an average of 15.5 yards per return. His average of 15+ yards per punt return put him among the likes of DeAngelo Hall and Andre Davis as one of the greatest punt returners in Virginia Tech history.
Holloway will leave a large void on special teams, but likely is someone who a new coach will try to see if he can retain.
We will have more as this story develops.
