We've seen plenty of big time recruits across multiple sports visiting Virginia Tech this fall, including football and basketball. This weekend, Virginia Tech Wrestling is set to host an elite group of recruits.
Five of the top 60 overall recruits in the 2025 class, including three of the 30, will be visiting Blacksburg this weekend, per source. Here's who will be on campus, along with their FloWrestling ranking and home state.
- 21. Cooper Hilton (TN)
- 24. Claudio Torres (FL)
- 27. Aaron Seidel (PA)
- 57. Drew Gorman (GA)
- 58. Ryan Burton (NJ)
This is an impressive group of recruits to get on campus all at once for the Hokies. Of course, this shouldn't come as a big shock given the numerous major recruiting battles that the Hokies have won over the years, including most recently, the top heavyweight in the 2023 class, Jimmy Mullen.
This visit list also shows how the Southeast continues to have a growing pool of talented wrestlers who are looking at staying in the region at places like Virginia Tech. We've also seen more Southeast talent ascend in Blacksburg, including All-American Caleb Henson (Georgia) and 141 starter Tom Crook (Florida).
While Tech still needs to heavily recruit places like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio among other Rust Belt states, the Southeast is rightly rising in priority for the Hokies.
A big recruiting weekend is ahead for the Hokies, with Tech having a great chance to get their 2025 recruiting momentum going well.
