The best season of Virginia Tech Wrestling’s Eddie Ventresca’s career got better after a massive 4-1 victory over previously #3 Vincent Robinson of NC State helped boost the Hokies to a dual meet victory over the Wolfpack and a share of the ACC Regular Season Title.
That also led to the nation’s now #4 wrestler at 125 earning a share of ACC Wrestler of the Week honors.

Ventresca earned All-American honors back in 2023, but this has undoubtedly been the best season of his career to date. Not only is Ventresca a favorite to earn All-American honors, but he’s also a contender to win the national title at 125.
The win for Ventresca should secure the top seed for him at the ACC Tournament which could be very valuable now that only one wrestler will get a bye thanks to the addition of Stanford. The one risk is that UNC’s Spencer Moore, ranked tenth in the country, could be a surprise 1 seed given his upset victory of Ventresca back in January.
Ventresca also now has four wins over top 18 opponents in Robinson (5), Nebraska’s Caleb Smith (7), Minnesota’s Cooper Flynn (16), and South Dakota State’s Tanner Jordan (18).
