That mindset has become particularly important for a Virginia Tech team that still has six regular-season games remaining.
"Two losses isn't ruining the season," Gosnell said. "We still got six games left, and we know everything's there for us."
While the Hokies have struggled to finish games over the last two weeks, Gosnell believes the team's response during those contests demonstrates that its competitive spirit remains intact.
"We're definitely a resilient team," Gosnell said. "I guess that showed up the latter end of the last two games. Just kind of our resilience and fight."
But Gosnell also understands that leadership becomes considerably more important when things aren't going well.
"It's easy to lead when you're winning," Gosnell said, emphasizing the importance of leadership following the team's two recent defeats.
