Virginia Tech was somewhat busy in the transfer portal this offseason bringing in several new players across the two transfer windows. While most of these guys will strengthen Tech’s depth this season, there are obviously two who will certainly start and will have the biggest impacts this fall: Preseason All-ACC DT Aeneas Peebles and starting Mike LB Sam Brumfield.
Both were all-conference players at Duke and Middle Tennessee State respectively last season, but Peebles brings more pedigree given what he’s already done at the Power 4 level. Meanwhile, Brumfield brings an upgrade at arguably the most important position on any defense, the middle linebacker spot.
That raises the question then as to who will make the bigger impact this fall: Peebles or Brumfield? So I decided to make the case for each of these two guys and would love to hear your thoughts on which one will have the bigger impact this fall.
