Xavier Burke suffered an Achilles injury during the first quarter against Boston College with the Hokies later announcing that Burke will miss the rest of the game. https://twitter.com/techlunchpaild/status/1058823154427199488 Burke is the second Hokie to suffer a game-ending injury today with Bryce Watts suffering a fractured forearm injury on the Hokies' first defensive possession. Virginia Tech was already hurting at defensive tackle after the Hokies announced before the game that starting DT Jarrod Hewitt was out due to injury. With Burke out, Robert Porcher IV takes on the role as the Hokies' third defensive tackle behind Ricky Walker and Vinny Mihota with Jimmie Taylor and Darius Fullwood likely next up after those 3. Burke's status beyond today's game is unknown at this time.
