Yesterday, Virginia Tech finished off their 2018 recruiting class by landing their top target, Dax Hollifield. Today, the Hokies were hoping to continue their recruiting momentum into the 2019 class via three-star offensive guard Jesse Hanson.
Unsurprisingly, VT received the good news they were hoping for.
Three-star offensive guard Jesse Hanson announced today that he has decided to commit to Virginia Tech. Hanson is the second commit from the state of Virginia and
third overall commit in the 2019 class. Hanson is one of the top guards in the country as
Rivals ranks him 13th best among guards and the
247 Sports Composite ranks him 17th best.
For the second-straight year, Virginia Tech has successfully kept the top recruit in Southwest Virginia home. After signing James Mitchell and Cole Beck in the 2018 class, VT has kept their regional momentum going in the area where they should be the most successful.
Hanson quickly became an offensive line priority after VT offered him, and Vance Vice quickly built a great relationship with him that helped the Hokies a lot. When VT first offered, they did have some ground to make up on schools that offered first like Virginia and Duke, but the Hokies quickly made him a priority and surged to the lead before picking up his commitment.
Jesse Hanson's Offer List (According to 247 Sports)
