Justin Robinson Named to the All-ACC Second Team

Robinson was the only Hokie named to any of the ACC’s three postseason teams and is the first player from Virginia Tech to be honored since Erick Green in 2013. Robinson, a 6’2”, 190-pound junior from Manassas, led the Hokies in scoring this season. He averaged 13.8 points per game throughout the season, but he really turned it on during the conference schedule. In ACC play, Justin Robinson averaged 16.2 points per game for Virginia Tech. He also averaged 5.4 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game in ACC games. Robinson’s shooting was more accurate in conference games as well. He shot 47 percent on field goals in ACC play compared to 46 percent throughout the entire season. From beyond the arc, Robinson shot an even 40 percent in conference games. In 18 conference games, Robinson led the Hokies in scoring 10 times, including a season-high 32 points in the Hokies’ 85-75 win over NC State. The loss to Louisville in January was Robinson’s breakout game of the season, as he led the Hokies in scoring for the first time with 23 points. Starting with that game, he would go on to score at least 20 points five times. Robinson received 123 votes to earn a spot on the second team. He is joined on that team by Tyus Battle of Syracuse, Marcquise Reed of Clemson, Devon Hall of Virginia and Wendell Carter, Jr. of Duke. Devin Wilson earned two votes for Defensive Player of the Year, which went to Virginia’s Isaiah Wilkins. Chris Clarke received seven votes for Sixth Man of the Year with the award going to De’Andre Hunter of Virginia.
