Three-Star JUCO DL Nick Figueroa is "Very Excited" About Virginia Tech Offer

IMG 3012
Virginia Tech only has a few spots left in their 2019 class with the Hokies looking to the junior college ranks to add some pieces including along the defensive line. Recently, the Hokies extended their first JUCO defensive tackle offer to West Coast three-star DT Nick Figueroa. https://twitter.com/nickafigueroa1/status/1055161307069001728 Figueroa had this to say about his Hokies' offer. "I’m very excited, I’ve been waiting for them for a while," Figueroa said. "They have a strong defensive tradition and they win a ton of games. I’m honored to have the opportunity to join that tradition." In addition, Figueroa said that the Hokies are a school that is "definitely at the top" of his recruitment after the offer. Looking ahead, Figueroa told us that he does plan to take an official visit to UCLA the weekend of December 1st. Following that visit, he hopes to take an official visit to Virginia Tech the weekend of December 8th though he added that it could change depending on how deep of a postseason run his JUCO team makes. It's rare for the Hokies to extend an offer to the West Coast with Figueroa being one of only a few in recent memory for Virginia Tech. However, it's clear that the Hokies do have some legitimate traction with Figueroa especially given the fact that he already has a date in mind for an official visit. UCLA is a top contender to watch as well as the Bruins have the "home appeal" though he told us that "I'm not huge on that." Virginia Tech may not recruit in California often, but the Hokies have emerged alongside UCLA as a top contender for three-star DL Nick Figueroa as they look to add some more experienced, talented players to a defensive tackle spot that is a major concern for 2019.

Nick Figueroa's Offer List (According to 247 Sports and Rivals)
