Virginia Tech has a history of success on the recruiting trail with brothers of former players highlighted by the Fuller and Edmunds brothers. Now, Virginia Tech has made Tyler Baron, brother of former VT star Woody Baron, a priority in the 2020 class.
After receiving an offer in January, Tyler Baron will be on campus this weekend.
Tyler Baron tweeted out today that he will be taking an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech this weekend. Baron is rated as a four-star recruit by 247 Sports. 247 has him ranked as the 248th best 2020 recruit, 13th best weakside DE, and tenth best recruit in Tennessee.
Baron's recruitment has blown up over the course of 2018 with his offer list growing to include plenty of top tier programs. The Hokies do have a significant advantage with the family connection via Woody Baron.
While a family connection won't be the deciding factor, it definitely should help the Hokies a lot in their pursuit of him. This visit is a great opportunity for the Hokies to continue to build their relationship with Baron and try to make a significant gain in his recruitment.
Tyler Baron is a priority for the Hokies as VT looks to at another family to the list of great Hokie families like the Fullers and Edmunds.
