2024 standout WR Mekhai White out of King George HS in King George County right outside of Fredericksburg has emerged as one of the top VA recruits in his class especially after leading his high school team with 9 touchdowns as a sophomore.

He's also emerging as an early offensive priority for the Hokies in the 2024 class with Tech hosting him on a Junior Day visit today that went well as he told us.

"This visit was great!! I really enjoyed myself," White said.

White had this to say about what made it a "great" visit for him.

"The coaches they made feel at home and they are really family oriented!!" White said

White also added the "family feeling really stood out to me" along with the Hokies' coaches as Tech's staff made a strong impression on him. White spent the most time with WRs coach Fontel Mines and defensive assistant Shawn Quinn who will be his area recruiter with White having this to say about his time with Mines.

"It was really good!! We just wanted to learn more about each other. This was our first time meeting each other," White said.

He had this to say about his time and conversations with Shawn Quinn.

"The conversations were great! He is a pretty cool guy," White said.

So how did this visit impact White's recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?

"This visit showed me that the new coaching staff is still interested in me and they are one of my top programs," White said.

White added this on why the Hokies are currently one of his top programs.

"The tradition of the program and it's close to home," White said.
