Two weeks ago, 757 CB Jahmari DeLoatch pulled a major surprise when he flipped his commitment from Cincinnati to Virginia Tech. He became the first recruit to flip from another Power 4 to the Hokies on Signing Day during the Brent Pry era, though the Hokies have had a few flips within the final weeks before Signing Day under Pry including Pop Watson flipping his commitment from Nebraska to VT for example.
So what led to DeLoatch flipping his commitment from the Bearcats to the Hokies? Here's what he had to say about that.
"Just the continued relationship building with the Tech staff and they have always been on my mind through this process, so when it came down to it, I just followed the steps I feel God was guiding me to," DeLoatch said.
Another thing that certainly helped DeLoatch land with the Hokies was his relationship with his future position coach, Derek Jones. He had this to say about how important his relationship with Jones was to flipping his commitment.
