Bryant chose the Hokies from numerous Power 5 programs including LSU; where he was previously committed till recently, USC, Oklahoma, Miami, and many others. He is the fourth defensive lineman in this class alongside Derrell Bailey Jr, Justin Beadles, and Robert Wooten. He is also the second Texas recruit to commit to the Hokies joining the aforementioned Wooten.
His decision comes after taking an official to Virginia Tech over the weekend that was "great" with Bryant also stating that he "loved the campus." Bryant also said that new defensive coordinator Justin Hamilton was "cool" and "kept it real" during the time the two spent together.
