'Big, Bad Bully' Terion Stewart Is Ready To Be a Weapon For Virginia Tech

Terion Stewart 1 VT Fall Camp 2025 From VT

With the death of fullbacks and the rise of spread offenses being the norm in college football, the old school Jerome Bettis-style running back has slowly gone away at the highest level of college football. The last time VT really had a bulky, old school power back leading the way was in the mid to late 2010s with Sam Rogers and Steven Peoples.

Now, the Hokies have a new bowling ball running back in Terion Stewart, the Bowling Green transfer who prefers the nickname 'Bully'. That nickname came from an interview that one of his teammates, QB Javez Alexander, at Sandusky HS in Ohio gave following a dominate performance from Stewart.

"So, hand the ball off. I broke literally probably, like, ten tackles. Like, seriously. Broke ten tackles, and I had four touchdowns. And after that, they interviewed Javez, and he was, like, ‘man, he's just a bully. I don't know what else to call him. He used to be out there bullying folks.’ And then, the next day I looked in the newspaper, it had a big old newspaper said, ‘the big bad bully.’," Stewart said.

Stewart himself isn't afraid to describe his running style as being unique even as he's willing to embrace the bowling ball moniker too.
