Three-star defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus announced on Twitter that he has decommitted from Virginia Tech. With Dorlus' decommitment, Virginia Tech has 16 commitments in their 2019 class. The Hokies also have two defensive tackles still committed in three-star FL recruits Mario Kendricks and Norell Pollard. Virginia Tech has been looking to add at least one JUCO defensive tackle with numerous offers being sent out recently. However, that was seen out of a desire to fill the immediate DT need with the coming departures of Ricky Walker and Vinny Mihota. It is possible that the Hokies may look to add another 2019 defensive lineman though don't be surprised if the Hokies save the scholarship for next cycle given the late timing of his decommitment, two weeks before the Early Signing Day. Meanwhile, Brandon Dorlus likely seems bound for Florida after he took an official visit to the Gators this weekend. While it is possible he could end up elsewhere, the Gators are the clear favorite at this point.
