Three-star CB Braxton Clark surprised many when he
committed to Virginia Tech days after he received an offer. Since then, Clark was solid in his commitment but recently made news when he publicly said that he wouldn't be committing today.
Now, it appears that Clark and VT have parted ways.

According to the
Orlando Sentinel and 247 Sports, Braxton Clark is no longer committed to Virginia Tech.
With
Justin Fuente expecting all commits to sign and Clark choosing not to sign today, it appears the pair has decided to simply part ways.
Clark has received multiple offers recently including ones from Nebraska and Ole Miss. VT is not expected to be a factor in his recruitment.
This news leaves Virginia Tech with only 25 commitments. However, the Hokies still have seven signed defensive backs including four likely cornerbacks. The Hokies are not expected to pursue another defensive back to replace Clark in this class either.
Losing Clark is disappointing, but isn't that bad given the other talented DBs VT has committed headlined by four-star JUCO CB Jeremy Webb. This also gives the Hokies some more room in a 2018 class where numbers were already getting tight.
