After having a bunch of transfers arrive in January, Virginia Tech has had a trio of additional transfers arrive this summer including Florida DE Antwaun Powell-Ryland, VMI LB Stone Snyder, and Gardner-Webb OL Clayton Frady.

All three either address important needs for the Hokies, add competition to a position group, or both.

The biggest addition is undoubtedly Antwaun Powell-Ryland, the 757 native who played at Florida the past few years showing plenty of promise before choosing to transfer. Powell-Ryland seemed to be trending towards a potential starting job at Florida after a strong finish to the 2022 season, but instead chose to head elsewhere with the Hokies being the beneficiary. He's an instant upgrade for a DE room needing to their improve pass rush especially after losing their best DE TyJuan Garbutt after completion of his collegiate career this past season.

VMI LB Stone Snyder was a three-time FCS All-American and projects to compete for the starting mike linebacker job as the most experienced player at that position even if his experience may be at the FCS level.

Gardner-Webb OL Clayton Frady is a proven starter at the FCS level who has shown the potential to be a productive lineman at the highest level. At minimum, Frady can give the Hokies some quality experienced depth that VT is lacking while he should be able to compete for one of the two tackles jobs and/or the right guard job

So what are Brent Pry's thoughts on each of these additions for the Hokies now that all three are in Blacksburg?
