Virginia Tech men's basketball will have an entirely new look this season after returning a mere five of 15 players from their previous season.
That led to a significant roster overhaul for the Hokies including six new transfer additions plus four newcomers via traditional high school recruiting. The roster turnover has had a bigger impact on the offensive side, especially with the graduation of Hunter Cattoor along with the transfer departures of standouts like Sean Pedulla and Lynn Kidd to Ole Miss and Miami respectively. While Mike Young teams are traditionally known for offense, the massive roster turnover has caused their offense to be the side of the court that has more work to be done than on the defensive side.
“Our defense is ahead of our offense, and probably 90-95% of coaches are seeing that about their team,” said Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young.
