One of the fun Signing Day things to watch is which commit is the first to sign with Virginia Tech. For the 2020 class, it was the Hokies' longest defensive line commit

Three-star DL Derrell Bailey Jr out of Tennessee became the first recruit to sign with the Hokies in the 2020 class. Bailey likely wouldn't have been the top pick given his location away from the coast, but the 6'6'' lineman was clearly ready to make it all official as soon as possible this morning.
Bailey is a very intriguing recruit who at 6'6'', has the size and frame to play either defensive end or tackle with tackle potentially being a better fit. Additionally, of Bailey doesn't work out on the defensive line, he definitely has lots of potential on the offensive line.
