Virginia Tech and head coach Mike Young added another high school prospect on Monday in Eltayeb Eltayeb, a 6-foot-8, 170-pound wing player.
Originally from Sudan, Eltayeb played last season at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, where he averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. In keeping with the Hokies' apparent focus recently, Eltayeb also shot 43% from three-point range on 61-for-142 shooting. He also went 80-for-111 from two-point range (72%) and was 77 of 90 at the free-throw line (86%).
Eltayeb earned Prep All-American Honorable Mention honors in 2026. As of publication, he's the only incoming freshman for Virginia Tech.
