The start of the 2026 Virginia Tech football season is less than two weeks away and there are plenty of Hokies who have lots of buzz around them whether it's returning standouts like Kemari Copeland and Marcellous Hawkins, prominent transfers like Ethan Grunkemeyer and Jaquez White, or known offseason risers like Aycen Stevens and Joshua Clarke.
However, there are also some more under-the-radar Hokies who don't necessarily have the amount of buzz and expectations that you probably should have for them. So with that in mind, here's my look at several Hokies who you should be buying stock in to have a larger role than maybe you expected.
WR Tyseer Denmark
There are a lot of lower-profile Penn State transfers who are on this list so let's start on the outside at wide receiver with Tyseer Denmark.
The redshirt sophomore WR had a strong Spring Game and has since put himself right in the battle for the Hokies' third starting wide receiver job. He's a versatile receiver who looks like he could be more than just a slot, though his size at 5'10'' and 183 pounds does bring some limitations.
Denmark has steadily worked his way into the hunt and even was made available for the media to chat with, a usual sign that a player is trending towards at least having a notable role even if it may not be a starting one.
Back in the spring, it seemed like Takye Heath had the lead in the third starting receiver job and that Denmark would have a hard time breaking into the two-deep especially with his preferred slot spot featuring Duke transfer Que'Sean Brown (who can play outside too) and Heath. However, Denmark has both shown some versatility and worked his way up to the depth chart to the point where he seems guaranteed at a minimum to have a spot in the first two-deep depth chart next week as one of VT's top six wide receivers.
Don't be surprised to see Denmark get some run this fall as he battles for the WR3 job against Marlion Jackson, Shamarius Peterkin, and Davion Brown.
