No one could have ever imagined an Atlantic Coast Conference football game being played on the West Coast even just a couple years ago. However, history will be made Saturday when Virginia Tech takes on Stanford in the first ever ACC game on the West Coast, with No. 8 Miami at California set to follow that night, hosting College GameDay prior to it as well.
With the status of Stanford starting quarterback Ashton Daniels being up in the air due to injury, the Hokies have emerged as about 9-to-10 point favorites as the Cardinal continue to rebuild in year 2 under Troy Taylor. This may be Tech's first conference trip to the West Coast, but this is a must-win for the Hokies' outside chances of reaching the ACC Championship after last week's loss to Miami cut out their margin for error.
So with that said, here are my Hokies to watch against Stanford.
WR Da'Quan Felton
One of the weaknesses of this Stanford team is their pass defense as they rank 124th in the country in passing yards allowed per game. Additionally, the Cardinal are allowing 12.65 yards per completion, showing a secondary that is very vulnerable to big plays through the air.
Enter Da'Quan Felton, the redshirt senior wide receiver who has proven to be the home run threat for Virginia Tech's offense since arriving in Blacksburg last year.
