With the recruiting dead period over, Virginia Tech wasted no time getting back to having recruits on campus as they hosted one of their top linebacker targets in the 2024 class in four-star Bodie Kahoun out of Patrick Henry HS in Roanoke, VA. Unsurprisingly, Tech was more than ready to impress which they certainly did as Kahoun described to us.
"It was awesome!! It was very fun and I got to do a lot of things that I needed to see," Kahoun said.
He had quite a busy day during his trip to Blacksburg as he shared with us.
"We ate breakfast and sat in on the team meeting. Then, we went into the LB individual meeting. Then we went down to the indoor facility and watched some practice. Then we went to eat in the dinning hall. Then we went on the basketball court. Then we did another photoshoot. Then we went through the whole facility. Then we got to go on the field. Then we went through weight room. Then we finally ended it with the tour of dorms," Kahoun said.
So what made it an awesome visit for Kahoun?
"The atmosphere was great. Everyone on the team was very nice and easy to talk to. I always like doing the photo shoot, and had a great time with the coaches eating and having great conversations. Overall, it was just a great time," Kahoun said.
He also got to spend a lot of time with defensive coordinator Chris Marve and DL coach/associate head coach J.C. Price adding that "both were awesome to spend time with."
There were also some unique things about this visit compared to others he's had.
"Just more time 1-on-1 with the coaches. Today, it was just me and one other recruit so it was fun to spend a lot of 1-on-1 time with coaches," Kahoun said.
One of the other more unique parts of this visit was the fact that he got to be in a LB meeting with Kahoun learning a lot from it.
"I just loved taking in all the information and learning many new things. One thing that stood out was how concentrated all the players were," Kahoun said.
So how did this visit impact his recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?
"It just makes me like VT even more, and they are definitely one of my top schools," Kahoun said.
Virginia Tech has plenty of work ahead to beat out Bodie Kahoun's long football offer list and to flip him from his Ohio State lacrosse commitment, but visits like this will certainly go a long way towards achieving that goal.
