Virginia Tech ended its two-game losing streak Saturday with a 34-24 victory over Georgia Tech headlined by a 24-point first half and 251 all-purpose yards from Que'Sean Brown. After the victory, James Franklin addressed the media and had this to say in his postgame press conference.
Opening Statement
So, like always, appreciate you guys coming out and covering Virginia Tech football. I’ll start by thanking the fans. We've got a great environment here. I know I keep coming in and saying this, and you guys don't necessarily want to hear it, but I just want to make sure our fans understand that we don't take them for granted. The environment that we have, our players feel that and it motivates them, it drives them to make them proud. It helps us in recruiting in so many different ways. It's a cool place to play football, one of the better environments in college football. We're appreciative of that. Love the fact that we were able to give coach Beamer exactly what he wanted on his 80th birthday which was a dub. That was big for us.
And then I just love that really all three phases found a way to have a factor in the game, a positive factor in the game. Obviously, there's things that we got to get cleaned up. But I was very, very pleased with how all three phases had a factor in the game.
