With fall camp starting, Virginia Tech has released an updated roster that includes a trio of position changes.
Pitt transfer Jordan Bass is the most notable name of the trio as he has moved from linebacker to safety. Meanwhile, redshirt freshman Noah Jenkins has done the reverse moving from linebacker to safety. True freshman Brennan Johnson was recruited as a linebacker but after further evaluation, he’s been shifted to safety.
Following today’s first practice, Pry addressed the position changes starting with the move of Bass from linebacker to safety.
“Jordan wasn’t able to do a whole lot in the spring, but enough to say he’s got some safety qualities,” Pry said. “Jordan made some plays today. I mean, he’s a see ball, get ball, and you go back and watch his high school film at Phoebus and he was all over the field as a safety. He’s got great range, good closing speed. He showed up a little bit today.”
