Virginia Twch has continued their reload at defensive tackle landing a commitment from one of the best JUCO defensive linemen in the country in Iowa Western DT Kemari Copeland.

Copeland chose the Hokies over NC State, Tennessee, and Arkansas where he also took official visits to in addition to VT. He also holds offers from Louisville, Texas A&M Auburn, UCF, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa State, Houston, Oregon State, Washington State, and more. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Copeland is another big recruiting victory for the Hokies with Tech making him one of its top transfer/JUCO DT targets for months. He built up an impressive offer list with Tech getting the last visit and taking advantage to close the deal.
The major interest shouldn't come as a surprise given that Copeland shined for the NJCAA national championship Iowa Western. On the season, Copeland had 38 tackles including nine for loss with 4.5 sacks plus a fumble recovery and a pass breakup.
It's reasonable to expect Copeland to not only play immediately but also compete with Josh Fuga for the starting DT job alongside All-ACC transfer addition Aeneas Peebles.
We will have more as this story develops.
