Virginia Tech has already added one older offensive lineman to their roster in Maryland grad transfer Johnny Jordan, but they aren't done yet especially after extending an offer to Jakob Bradford out of Iowa Central CC.
Bradford had this to say about receiving an offer from the Hokies.
"I’m super excited. They are a powerhouse for linemen and Coach (Vance) Vice has been nothing but great to me so far. I’m gaining more information on them every day so I still have a lot to learn but this is a great offer to say the least!" Bradford said.
He also this on how this impacts where the Hokies stand in his recruitment.
"They stand pretty high since they are known for their offensive lineman. I am still finding out more and more about Virginia Tech every day so I’m just gaining more information," Bradford said.
So why are the Hokies standing "pretty high" in his recruitment?
"They have a great education program and they have an amazing group of Olinemen there. Would be great to join that group," Bradford said.
Tech became the second Power 5 offer along with Syracuse for Bradford with those two schools receiving most of his consideration though he did say that he is also still considering Middle Tennessee State. However, Bradford did make it clear that Tech and Syracuse are still the focal schools at this point.
With that, there is likely plenty of intrigue about Bradford going into Signing Day, but that intrigue may need to be put on hold for now as Bradford has told us that "for right now, I will not be signing on National Signing Day."
When Jakob Bradford does make his decision, he has a good idea about what the key factors will be for him.
"Key factors will be a good group of offensive lineman, room full of competition, and a great offensive line coach that will win me over. Also want a team with a great culture," Bradford said.
While it seems unlikely that Jakob Bradford will make a decision on Signing Day. it is clear that Virginia Tech is a serious contender battling Syracuse and MTSU to land him.
