Virginia Tech released their first depth chart of the 2025 season today and there were a few surprised included on it along with a lot of "ORs" with some of those allowing third and fourth team guys to earn a spot on the initial two-deep depth chart.
There's a lot to discuss with this to say the least, so let's start by diving into my offensive takeaways.
Odd Offensive Line Shakeup
Another surprise came on the offensive line. While the five starters are not a surprise to anyone, the way they are lined up is definitely a surprise.
Tomas Rimac has been shifted from right tackle to left guard with Layth Ghannam moving from left to right guard and Montavious Cunningham moving from right guard to right tackle. These shakeups are definitely a surprise especially after Brent Pry and Matt Moore had both previously talked about how Cunningham focusing just on guard had helped him this offseason. Here's what Matt Moore specifically told me at Media Day about Cunningham.
