Virginia Tech, sitting at 2-5 on the heels of a two-game losing streak, have finally reached an open week that gives them a much-needed chance to reset and heal up after a rough start to the season.
"I feel like every position is going to get banged up throughout the season," safety Tyson Flowers said during Wednesday's post-practice media availability. "I think this bye week falls great for us and of course, in the safety room, to get get some reps for everyone in there. And yeah, just to recover from [this], we're all banged up a little bit, but I think it'll do us well."
The Virginia Tech safeties room has dealt with a lot of departures and players who appear to be considering redshirts to preserve eligibility in addition to some injuries in Tech’s secondary overall.
