After taking a lot of hits and not having the best game, Philip Montgomery made the decision to make a change at quarterback bringing in Pop Watson for Kyron Drones ahead of a 4th and 11 for Virginia Tech down 27-10 to No. 13 Miami.

Watson delivered immediately with a 39-yard completion to Ayden Greene before running it in from three yards out for a touchdown on the next play.

Watson would finish out the game from there, going 2-3 for 77 yards plus his three-yard rushing touchdown while also having a fumble recovered by Miami when he simply didn't get the ball out in time before Akheem Mesidor could force it out as he was trying to get rid of it.

After the game, Philip Montgomery had this to say about Watson's performance in his brief stint to close out the game.
