While only a couple true freshmen will likely avoid redshirts this season, there is always intrigue surrounding the incoming freshman class during their first seasons of college football. After only having one freshman avoid a redshirt last year, Virginia Tech will likely have a couple who can immediately impact this year’s team.
However, there’s still a lot that happens during any player’s true freshman season, even those who are redshirting. So with that in mind, let’s look at what Pry had to say about multiple true freshman Hokies.
CB Knahlij Harrell
The one freshman who seems certain not to redshirt at this point is cornerback Knahlij Harrell.
The 757 native was the backup nickel during the Spring Game and made a few impressive plays during that game. That wasn’t out of the norm for Harrell who has impressed Brent Pry since he’s arrived on campus, with Pry being confident that he’ll play this fall.
