It isn't hyperbolic to say that this could be the most successful season in program history.
Virginia Tech's lineup features four former All-Americans, two World Champions, and one World Bronze medalist. Make no mistake, never has there been a team this talented in the Hokies' wrestling room. If we take Robie at his word, he believes this group can potentially win an NCAA title. It would be a difficult feat to accomplish, though, given the gap between the best programs and the field.
Dethroning the 13-time champs Penn State is itself a nearly impossible task, while former champions Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Iowa each have strong, title-contending lineups of their own led by elite coaches.
