Talented Recruits Set to Visit Virginia Tech For Boston College Game

The first home game of the 2022 season for Virginia Tech also means the first opportunity to host recruits on campus for a game inside Lane Stadium. Unsurprisingly given that it's an ACC game at night, Tech is poised to host a quality group of recruits on the football side along with a major basketball recruit.

There are already a few offered recruits among those conifmred to be visiting starting with two in-state 2024 standouts in LB Chris Cole out of Salem, VA and three-star TE Luca Puccinelli out of Richmond. 2024 OT Eagan Boyer and 2025 DE Kamden Laudenslager are other offered recruits set to visit this weekend while 2023 ATH Brody Jones is among the most intriguing uncommitted recruits visiting Tech for the BC game.

However, the biggest visitor may be a surprise to some as 2023 four-star WR and UNC commit Chris Culliver will be visiting Blacksburg this weekend per source. He also has his teammate and QB Wesley Thompson also visiting who could be a PWO target for the Hokies at minimum.

Since our initial post, the Richmond contingent has grown significant with current VT CB commit Cameren Fleming joining the list plus some 2024 targets including WR Eric Smith, DB Zahir Rainer, and QB Khristian Martin with more possible.

On the basketball side, 2024 five-star SF Trentyn Flowers is set to visit Virginia Tech this week which may be one of the biggest unofficial visitors in recent memory for Mike Young and VT MBB as a whole.

Another interesting name is Caleb Hampton out of Tennessee who tweeted out Tuesday night that he is visiting Virginia Tech this weekend. Hampton is a football and baseball athlete who was previously committed to South Carolina for baseball and had an impressive 9.5 out of 10 grade in baseball from Perfect Game. Evan Watkins over at VT Scoop was the first to notice Hampton.
